In the “Centre Ouest” intervention zone, we want to train 100 farm advisors for use in around 500 villages. During this project the farm consultants will continue to be supported by our senior consultants. With your sponsorship we cover our own costs for teachers, fixed costs of the eco-centre and material:
The newly trained “farm consultants” do not receive any payment from us for their advice on site. The practice of imparting knowledge is based on a long tradition and is highly valued and respected in Burkina Faso.
With your support we offer the free training for the “Farmer to Farmer Advice”. This form of knowledge transfer takes place free of charge for both sides. Our teachers train farmers free of charge at the Ökozentrum and the trained advisors in turn pass on their knowledge to small farmers free of charge.
Our teachers offer this efficient and highly effective knowledge transfer only to the capable and successful farmers, so that practical knowledge can be immediately applied and used in the fields.
The demand for “farmer to farmer consultations” is very high. Farmers’ advisors traditionally receive non-monetary compensation from the farming families for their commitment. Already in the
PATECORE project (1987-2005)
we have introduced this form of training.
