Help as a foundation

How you can help with your foundation

Are you looking for suitable funding projects for your foundation? If you want to become active in Africa, as an experienced partner, we are able to reliably implement ideas and goals. Terra Verde eV helps sustainably in Burkina Faso and was awarded for the effect of the projects.

We are there for the rural population of the Sahel zone and help with famine, humanitarian crises and local conflicts. We create prospects for young people and young families. We prevent the causes of flight and ensure the preservation of livelihoods on our earth with eco-social projects. In Africa, according to the World Biodiversity Council (IPBES), around half a million square kilometers of land (the area of Spain) are already considered degraded due to overexploitation, erosion and pollution.

Time is of the essence to counter smallholder agriculture in Burkina Faso with solutions. With the success of our operating principle, we realize a multiple of requests from the farmers through each project. Against this background, the people of the Sahel have new prospects for the future.

You have to know your local area well in order to be able to help: The employees of Terra Verde and IDD Burkina have been working on site for over 15 years because the rural population needs a sustainable perspective in the fight against hunger and population growth. Our effects are scalable and a good example of how sustainable help for self-help motivates people and enables them to work for their future – the recultivated soils can be cultivated for 25 years due to the lifespan of the stone walls.

Terra Verde Africa as a partner of your foundation

Terra Verde founder Melchior Landolt was in charge of PATECORE, the flagship project of German development aid. As the GTZ team leader, he set the course for the future, which after the termination of the project contributed to Terra Verde’s successful continuation. Today, Terra Verde is just as effective as PATECORE – only much leaner and more efficient.

Since 2006, rural exodus has been significantly reduced in the project areas because the hunger and poverty trap for many smallholders has been brought to an end in the long term. Terra Verde continues to work closely with KfW and the BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) – even in times of crisis when a private agency can act much more flexibly.

The experiences from war and crisis areas help to be prepared for all situations in the Sahel zone

The key to success is our farmer training. What we have learned is passed on on site and the knowledge is multiplied, we work with 400 local farmers’ organizations. In order to provide even more interested people with information, we are also building a radio station for the rural population.

Achieving more together – also with climate change

Our results have also reached the political decision-makers in the G5 countries in the Sahel zone and create the best conditions for promoting climate protection with efficient large-scale projects – for this we need strong and sustainable partnerships.

We invest in repeatable results – with your support

100% scalability. What investors want from every startup has been customary for us for many years, because before we start a new project, the demand from the farmers is already certain and thus the sustainable success for each project. As a foundation, you will receive a tax-effective donation confirmation for all donations and a reliable and understandable project report after each completed project phase. Upon request, we will show the use of the funds for the funded project in the notice of exemption. Terra Verde accompanies all large projects very closely with local partners and has the effectiveness of external experts evaluated. The effectiveness of the aid is checked and continuously improved – for almost 20 years

Know what works – why the farmers cooperate

The analysis followed the question: “What does our work do immediately and in the long term?” And “Why do the farmers work with them”. Those who do not learn to convey the effects of environmental and sustainability aspects in agricultural training cannot expect the farmers to use these advantages later.

If you have any questions or want to cooperate with us, Mr. Melchior Landolt will contact you personally. You can reach us by phone on +49 (0) 7021 – 48 05 19
